Christina Belknap ,Executive Director

Lincoln Theater

Jan 21, 2025 7:30 AM

As a Damariscotta local, Belknap understands and appreciates the history of the Lincoln Theater; a truly special place built by the community, for the community. She feels strongly that the theater remains a vital part of the Midcoast, providing programs to the public from movies, to live performances and community events, all the while, and most importantly, remaining a hub for enriching social experiences.

Melissa Cole, MidCoast Conservancy

Sheepscot River Watershed

Feb 04, 2025 7:30 AM

MELISSA COTE
SHEEPSCOT RIVER WATERSHED MANAGER

As the Sheepscot River Watershed Manager, Melissa works to protect and restore aquatic resources throughout the Sheepscot River watershed. She manages our Atlantic salmon recovery work, our aquaculture program, the Sheepscot Sampler volunteers, and so much more.

Originally from Massachusetts, Melissa has always found a second home in Maine where her grandfather grew up. It’s where she fell in love with the ocean, especially the water-to-land interface, and wrote her college admissions essay about her childhood experiences exploring the Rachel Carson salt pond preserve in Bristol. After obtaining her Master of Science degree in oceanography from the University of Connecticut, she worked for two environmental nonprofits where she found her true passion in conservation work. Melissa jumped at the opportunity to make Maine her forever home in January 2020 when she moved to the Midcoast region to work for the Department of Marine Resources where she monitored water quality for the Bureau of Public Health. Melissa is thrilled to serve as the Sheepscot River Watershed Manager to help protect and restore the lands and waters that both her and her grandfather love so much.

Newest Peace Center/Peace scholars

May 20, 2025 7:30 AM

This week we look forward to Marty Helman sharing her recent trip to Turkey for the Grand Opening of the newest Rotary Peace Center.   What's a Rotary Peace Center??  There are eight Rotary Peace Centers in the World teaching conflict resolution and international and national cooperation.  An amazing project of the Rotary Foundation -- and just one more reason to be proud to be a Rotarian.

Pownalborough Court House, Old Jail and Chapman-Hall House

Jun 03, 2025 7:30 AM

The mission of LCHA is to collect, preservce and interpret the history of Lincoln County Maine, which one extended from Brunswick to Canada.  Key to their work are the Pownalborough Courthouse in Dresden (1761), the Old Jail in Wiscasset (1811) and the Chapman-Hall House (1754) in Damariscotta.

all 3 museums feature collections of textiles, costumes, tools, furniture, baskets, housewares, maps, photographs, manuscripts and other ephemera that tell real human stories the years our towns became settled communities.

Corinne Tompkins

Fork Food Lab

Jun 17, 2025 7:30 AM

Forkfoodlab.com

Raised between Hoboken, New Jersey and Dixfield, Maine, Corinne grew up immersed in two completely different worlds. It is no surprise that food became the medium in which she communicates with the community and world around her. She enjoys traveling to strange places, eating weird food, and listening to the stories of the people she meets along the way.

While attending college, Corinne explored entrepreneurial endeavors. Largely focused on plant based menus, she has spent time as a Personal and Executive Raw Food Chef in New York City and Portland, OR, launched a brick and mortar restaurant in Jersey City, NJ, offered affordable and nutritious alternatives to school lunch programs in Northern New Jersey, and explored the world of consumer packaged goods with a raw dessert pie product in the Pacific Northwest. Corinne graduated from the Art Institute of Portland, Oregon with a degree in Sustainable Food Systems and Management in 2013.

As Fork Food Lab’s General Manager, Corinne oversees daily operations and supports both staff and members. She is committed to promoting sustainable economic growth for the future of Maine's food community and she looks forward to working with you.
